Local historian, photograph collector and Voice reader Barrie Doney has no shortage of pictures and stories from Cornwall’s past, which he shares with Voice Newspaper readers every week.
This week’s photograph shows Place House in Fowey.
Barrie says of this picture: “Place House in Fowey. Home in the 15th century to the Treffry family. Reported to have been successfully protected by Mrs Treffry from French invaders in 1457. The extra part on the tower was added because the Treffry's didn't like to be lower than the Church tower.”
