CUSTOMERS have a new banking option in Newquay.
A fast-banking counter has opened in the main post office in East Street as part of plans to launch a temporary banking hub in the town.
Cash Access UK is delivering the facility, which will be a shared banking space, similar to a traditional bank branch, but available to everyone.
The counter service is being operated by Post Office employees, which provides customers of any bank including Bank of Ireland UK, Barclays, Danske Bank, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, NatWest, Santander, TSB and Virgin Money, the opportunity to withdraw and deposit cash, make bill payments and carry out regular banking transactions.
A room for community banking is due to open in the post office on Thursday, March 13, which will be a private space where customers of banks can speak to community bankers from their own bank for more complicated matters that require specialist knowledge or privacy.

They will be working on a rotating basis, so there will be staff from different banks available on different days.
Bank staff will be able to offer advice and support in the banking hubs and direct people to the departments that can sort out problems or resolve any complaints.
