A NEWQUAY lifeboat was launched to rescue three people onboard a broken down jet ski at Watergate Bay.
Newquay RNLI volunteers were paged and tasked to assist the people on the jet ski which had broken down and was drifting towards the rocks at the northern end of the beach on Wednesday, August 28 at 9.18am.
The charity's Atlantic 85 was launched to locate the jet ski and casualties. Once on scene the crew of the Atlantic spoke to the three casualties who confirmed they did not require any medical assistance.
The casualties were taken onboard the lifeboat, and the jet ski was towed back to the safety of Newquay Harbour.
A spokesperson for Newquay RNLI Lifeboats said: “The casualties were offered a hot drink but declined, confirming that they were all fine, however thanked the station for their assistance.
“In any coastal emergency call 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
