AN event is being staged in Newquay that aims to support a free Palestine.
‘Let’s Talk About Palestine’ will be held at the WI Hall in Crantock Street on Friday, August 30, between 7pm and 10pm. Newquay MP Noah Law is due to attend.
The event will feature talks from a Palestinian scholar, activists, Campaign Against the Arms Trade, Medical Aid for Palestinians and a humanitarian aid worker who recently returned from Gaza as well as a question and answer session with the speakers.
Middle Eastern inspired food will be available, and a fundraising sale of art works donated by UK based artists in aid of Medical Aid for Palestinians.
Rosie Blake said: “As tension is rising and the worrying speed of escalation within the area, we aim to hold a safe place for honest conversations.
“The event will be a very well curated, educational evening of talks, art sale fundraiser, food as well as a group question and answer session.
“To maintain our hope and solidarity for a Free Palestine, we must stay engaged with the community, work together and build our resilience as a movement.
“We’ll be selling art, sharing food and raising funds for aid efforts in Gaza. Donations welcome and encouraged.”
