More than 200 people attended a double celebration at a community hub in the Clay Country.
ClayTAWC (Clay Area Training and Work Centre) in St Dennis was marking 25 years of serving the community as well as the purchase of the Old School Building which the organisation has leased from a local charity, Church Charity of John Arundell, since 1999.
The ClayTAWC board secured £96,560 from Shared Prosperity Funding (SPF) and £73,899 from the St Dennis and Nanpean Community Trust (incinerator fund) to buy the building and make improvements to the kitchen facilities.
Board chairman Dick Cole said: “We are so pleased to have been able to buy the building and safeguard it as a community hub, which will allow us to carry on all the fantastic work we have been doing.
“Thank you to everyone who came to the celebration and all the volunteers that helped make it such a wonderful occasion.”
