THE eagerly anticipated line-up for the Newquay Harbour Festival has been announced.

The celebration of food, culture and community is being staged by The Boathouse, Newquay BID, Cornwall Shop Small and Newquay Farmers Market on Saturday, September 7 from 10am to 9pm.

The day of family fun will include live music, food, chef’s demos, local makes and unique experiences.

The Harbour Market of Cornish Produce and Makes will be held at the harbour, Bank Street and the Killacourt from 10am to 4pm.

Beach art ‘Pages of the Sea’ flag installation created and designed by City of Lights will be held on the beach from 10am to 5pm.

Visitors will be able to take part in a Rockpool Ramble with Mr FT at 10am. They will be able to explore the harbour and find out more about its thriving eco system.

People wanting to do their bit to help keep the harbour pristine will be able to join the Sharps beach clean from 10am to 12pm. Adults who participate will be rewarded with a free pint of Atlantic Beer from Sharps.

Visitors will be able to make a withy fish at a free family workshop with City of Lights artists at the harbour from 10am to 4pm.

They will be able to learn more about the life of the lobster with the Padstow Lobster Hatchery.

There will be live music from midday to 9pm. Kicking off with a lively performance from The Clams, which will be followed by an array of live music acts including Tom Cary, Will Powell, Newquay Rowing Club Singers, Harbour Rats Shanty Band and the Charlie Wolf Jazz Trio.

Cooking demos will be staged in in the Rattler marquee from 1pm featuring talented Cornish-based chefs showcasing their culinary skills, including Guy Owen from the Great British Menu, Gavin Edney from the Headland Hotel and Adam Banks, SHIO of Asian Street Food.

People will be able to experience a unique gin flavouring workshop with Tarquin's Gin and Navas Drinks at 6pm and have an opportunity to unwind with a free wine tasting session from 7.30pm to 9pm. There will also be an array of street food, seafood and a Sharps Bar available.

Sarah Curley of Cornwall Shop Small added: “It’s wonderful that our monthly BIG Newquay Market coincides with the return of the Newquay Harbour Festival.

“As usual we’ll have stalls on the Killacourt, along Bank Street and for this month only we’ll be extending the market down to the harbour making it our biggest BIG Newquay Market day yet.”
