A vibrant and colourful St Ives Pride will march through the town centre with the world’s largest Pride flag on Saturday, October 5.

The march, which celebrates diversity, individuality and the LGBTQ+ community, will begin on Wharf Road and finish at The Guildhall. Cornwall Pride Volunteer Marshals will line the march route along the front, up Lifeboat Hill and along High Street.

Visitors are asked to gather at the start from 11.45am onwards and the march of celebration and unity will take approximately 30 minutes.

St Ives’ Island Centre is the place to be any time from 12.30pm when the march finishes and the Pride celebrations can be enhanced, featuring a performance stage with live entertainment all afternoon and into the evening with live singers, comedians, dancers and more. Confirmed acts to perform include Jak Lewis, Rock Choir and Lady Scarlette Von B.

A range of LGBTQ+ supportive acts from across Cornwall and beyond will be on hand, including some drag queens, kings and cabaret singers. An all day bar is available for those aged 18 and over, while food and drink retailers will be present to provide meals and refreshments throughout the day.

Cornwall Pride will also be bringing its range of Pride merchandise for visitors to stock up on flags, pin badges and all things rainbow for the celebration. In addition to this, a range of Cornish-based organisations are represented at Pride and will be happy to chat.

Support groups will also have tents at Pride to reach out and raise awareness of the services they have available. If needing a break, Cornwall Pride are providing a safe quiet space hosted by volunteer event marshals.

St Ives is the venue for the last Cornwall Pride event of the year after successful outings in Newquay, Bude and Truro. The penultimate celebration takes place in Saltash on September 14, where the march begins at Victoria Gardens from 11.45am and finishes at Waterside, celebrations then continue at Brunel Green after the march.
