BEACHGOERS are being warned to stay clear of cliffs following a landslip at a popular Newquay beach.

Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team attended a cliff collapse at Great Western Beach.

A coastguard spokesperson said: “Be aware, a section of cliff near Great Western collapsed, with the potential for more to fall.

“Stay well away from the base of any cliffs and please report any concerns and further falls to us and RNLI Lifeguards Newquay.

“If you see someone in difficulty along the coast dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
