Truro’s Wednesday Late-Night Shopping kicked off this week with a Jack and the Beanstalk-themed Father Christmas Parade.

Participants included Camborne Youth Band, Rock Choir Cornwall, Hotch Potch Performance, Cornwall Dance School, Swamp Circus, Jason Thomas Performing Arts, Flanagan’s School of Irish Dance, Samba Cambada, town crier Lionel Knight and wife Carol and, last but not least, families carrying lanterns made at the City of Lights workshops.

Truro BID manager Alun Jones said: “It was great to see so many families coming out to watch Father Christmas and his elves, along with the musicians, dancers, and circus performers. Thank you to everyone who came along and to those who supported the event.”

Father Christmas and his team return for the city’s grotto and storytelling experience at the Royal Cornwall Museum from Saturday, December 7. For more details and tickets, visit www.coppicetheatre.co.uk/whats-on
