Dunelm is calling on Truro customers to make sure no one goes without a gift this Christmas.

Its annual charity campaign, Delivering Joy, has delivered almost a quarter of a million gifts to those in need over the past four years.

Dunelm works with care homes, schools, refuges and charities to gather gift requests, creating tags that include the recipient’s gender, age and choice of gift. These are hung from Christmas trees in store.

Customers are invited to collect a tag featuring a specific gift request, to be returned attached to a gift for the homeware chain to deliver to its recipient before Christmas.

Last year, store colleagues revealed that the cost-of-living crisis have caused many people to put winter essentials at the top of their wishlist: hats, scarves, socks, toiletries and festive food items like selection boxes.

Dunelm staff are already seeing similar requests this year, showing that whether big or small, gift donations of any size can still make a difference for those who may otherwise go without.

People and stores director Amanda Cox said: “Each year, we are amazed by the generosity of customers and colleagues who come together to make a real difference in their local communities.”

The Truro store has 311 tags up for grabs, with one third already gone. Tags that aren’t fulfilled by the middle of December will be funded by Dunelm to ensure no one goes without this Christmas.
