THROUGHOUT December visitors to St Ives can experience magic, music, and local traditions at The Cornerstone library building.

With an array of festive events for all ages, from storytime with Old Man Winter to the heartwarming children’s show Nadelik, The Cornerstone opens its doors six days a week to bring winter cheer and help visitors countdown to Christmas.

The events at the St Ives library are as follows:

  • The Cornerstone Christmas Market celebrates one-of-a-kind gifts from talented local artisans on Saturday, December 7. From handmade crafts to locally sourced goodies, this is the perfect place to find thoughtful Christmas presents. Warm up with a cup of mulled wine as you listen to the sounds of traditional carol singing and soak in the festive atmosphere. 10am-7pm.
  • Old Man Winter will welcome young audiences with enchanting festive tales which capture the mystic and magic of Christmas on Saturday, December 14. After storytime, children can visit the Elf’s Workshop, where they can make their own Christmas decorations to take home and add a little festive sparkle to The Cornerstone's community tree. Times: 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm.
  • In the Christmas finale, the well-loved Cornish story A Christmas in Cornwall by local author Craig Barr-Green comes to life in Nadelik on Thursday, December 19. It’s Christmas Eve in Cornwall and two little girls and their Gran are excitedly preparing for the big day. But where’s Dad? As night falls, their fisherman father is caught in a storm far out at sea. Will he make it home for Christmas? 4pm start.
