My wife, Sarah Blackwell (nee Gale) used to live in Quintrell downs and her mother and father also lived there. Sarah now lives in Swindon with me.

We started researching some of her relatives who died in World War One. Thanks to the Rifles museum in Bodmin, I’ve managed to find out quite a bit about her great grandfather and great uncle’s military service. Both died in World War One.

Her great grandad was Wilfred Rickard (King’s Own Scottish Borderers). Born St Austell 1891, died France 3rd May 1917.

Her great uncle was William Edgar Bray (Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry). Born St Austell 1890, died France 1917.

The Rifles did an amazing job on giving me lots of info on their military service. But one thing we can’t find is a picture of either of them.

I would like to ask if any surviving relatives have a picture of either?

Being an ex serving soldier, I realise that pictures were pretty scarce back then and they maybe included in a group photo, but anything would be greatly appreciated.

If there are any surviving relatives, I’m more than happy to share their military service records with them.
