NEWQUAY AFC are set to host one of the most significant fixtures in the club’s history this evening (Thursday) when they take on Wendron AFC in a decisive clash under the lights at Mount Wise Stadium.
Kick-off is at 7.30pm with gates and clubhouse opening from 5pm.
Should the Peppermints secure a win or a draw, they will be promoted from SWPL Premier West to the Western Football League Premier Division and with it Step 5 football, marking a landmark achievement for the club and the local football community.
The club is also thrilled to welcome over 300 groundhoppers as part of Ground Hop UK, contributing to what is expected to be a crowd of more than 1,000 visitors for this milestone event.
“We’re on the brink of something very special,” said Jack Hunter, chairman of Newquay AFC.
“This fixture is not just about promotion – it’s about the progress we’ve made as a club and the passionate support from our community. We welcome all supporters to get behind the team on what promises to be an unforgettable night.”
Admission prices are £6 for adults and £4 for concessions, while fans will also have the opportunity to purchase new Peppermints merchandise from the club shop during the evening.
Newquay AFC encourages all visitors to arrive early to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the clubhouse facilities, and be part of a night that could go down in club folklore.
We’re also excited to welcome our new hospitality partners, Wax Events, who will be at the fixture offering a taste of their fantastic hospitality. Be sure to stop by and say hello!
