YOUNG dancers showcased their talent at the annual show in Redruth.
Students from Bounce Dance Academy, which stages classes in Newquay and Wadebridge, took to the stage to perform ‘Once Around the Sun’ at the Regal Theatre.
More than 150 dancers aged between two and 21 took the audience on a journey which celebrated a year of national days and cultural events from Christmas and Pride to Boardmasters and St Piran’s Day.
The high-energy performances ranged from classical ballet to contemporary, tap and street dance.
The audience danced along to rousing performances which celebrated Diwali and Carnival, while a particularly poignant performance from the older students provided an opportunity to reflect on Remembrance Day.
Rachel Pearse from the Bounce Dance Academy said: “Once again the students have done us and themselves proud. Their enthusiasm and dedication never fails to amaze me.
“Our annual shows are a chance to celebrate all the choreography they practice each week in class and it’s a great way to bring everyone together to showcase their incredible talent.
“None of this would be possible without my wonderful team and I’m extremely grateful to all of them and our team of helpers.”
Bounce Dance Academy runs classes in ballet, street-dance, lyrical, contemporary, pointe work, pre-school, Acro and tap classes in Wadebridge and Newquay.
Rachel added: “Bounce organises as many opportunities as possible for its students to perform, so they can showcase their work and celebrate their talent.
“Performances create an opportunity for students to work towards a goal and push themselves.
“For students who show great potential, dedication and determination Bounce has performance groups that are by invite only.
“For students who are part of these groups, their past performances include the Royal Cornwall Show, The Hall for Cornwall, Kids for Cornwall, The Platform, Move it and many more performances in and across Cornwall.”
