A VILLAGE in the Clay Country is planning to have its own Christmas tree on display when the festive season gets under way later this year.

St Dennis Parish Council says it will be the first time the village has had its own tree and lights.

The council is planning to light up the tree on the evening of Friday, December 6. The event will start at 6pm with the switching on of the lights taking place at 6.30pm on the green at Trelavour Prazey.

The council is looking for volunteers who would like to help with the festive event.
