Kresen Kernow are hosting free heritage open days for a celebration of the brave and adventurous men and women who travelled the world in search of work and adventure this September.
The home to the Archives and Cornish Studies Service, based in Redruth, will be opening up their strongrooms for visitors to discover stories of Cornish people on the theme of routes, networks and connections.
Members of the public can learn why the Cornish pasty is celebrated in Mexico, the story of a woman travelling on a Packet ship to the Caribbean and much more, shown through the precious documents cared for by the archive centre.
Dates and times for the tours are:
• Saturday, September 7, at 10.30am or 2pm
• Tuesday, September 10, at 10.30am or 2pm
• Wednesday, September 11, at 6pm
• Saturday, September 14, at 10.30am or 2pm
Tours last approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
