THE communities of Redruth and Camborne will come together on Remembrance Sunday (November 10) to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Redruth’s Remembrance Parade forms up on Sea View Terrace and leaves at 10.40am. The parade goes along Albany Road, turns left into Victoria Park where a two-minute silence will be conducted at 11am, followed by organisations laying wreaths around the war memorial.

The parade then leaves Victoria Park, heads back down Albany Road, then concludes at St Andrew's Church where all are welcome for a service and light refreshments.

On Saturday, November 9, a Festival of Remembrance is being hosted at Redruth Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, featuring the Celtic Male Ensemble and Lowena Voices.

An Act of Remembrance will also take place at the event where all proceeds go to the Poppy Appeal. To secure tickets, call 01209 824977. 7pm start time, doors open at 6pm.

Meanwhile, Camborne Remembrance Parade will depart from Commercial Square at 10.15am this Sunday.

It will head around through Union and Cross Street, down to Tyacks roundabout and congregate outside St Martin & St Meriadoc Parish Church. Once arrived there will the two-minute silence and the laying of wreaths.

A Concert of Remembrance is set to take place at Camborne Wesley Methodist Church at 7pm the same day, where Lanner and District Silver Band and Holman-Climax Male Voice Choir will be performing. All proceeds from the evening goes towards the Poppy Appeal.
