YEAR 10 students at Pool Academy had an unforgettable experience this term, celebrating Shakespeare Week with an engaging and insightful workshop at the Minack Theatre.
A group of 34 students took part in a comprehensive exploration of Macbeth, diving deep into the story, analysing key quotations, and getting to know the characters from their GCSE play.
The workshop, which was both educational and interactive, offered students the chance to explore the famous Shakespearean tragedy in the incredible setting of the Minack. The experience brought Shakespeare’s work to life in a truly unique and memorable way, inspiring both students and teachers alike.
Shakespeare Week, an annual celebration organised by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, aims to offer school-aged children across the UK the chance to engage with Shakespeare's characters, stories, and language.
Nick Ward, principal at Pool Academy, said: “Our students had an amazing time during the workshop at the Minack Theatre. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to engage with Macbeth in such a creative and immersive environment.
“At Pool Academy, we’re passionate about the arts, and our students’ growth in both drama and English is something we truly value. The experience of performing and learning in such an iconic setting will undoubtedly stay with them throughout their GCSE journey.”
