THE grand opening of a village hall extension, after years of fundraising, will take place near St Austell on Sunday, March 23.

Trewoon Village Hall will be celebrating with an open event from 4pm to 6pm when people will be able to explore the new facilities and free tea, coffee and cakes will be provided.

A spokesperson for the hall said: “This project aims to expand outreach programmes, making vital services more accessible to our local community and parish residents.”

The project has cost more than £159,475 and has been supported by funding allocated from Cornwall Council’s Community Levelling Up Programme on behalf of the government, through the Good Growth Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Shared Prosperity Fund.
