Local historian, photograph collector and Voice reader Barrie Doney has no shortage of pictures and stories from Cornwall’s past, which he shares with Voice Newspaper readers every week.

It’s back to the late 1800’s this week, as Barrie’s snapshot from a moment in time takes us back to a tranquil scene in Fowey.

Barrie says of this picture: “A steam tug towing a boat out to sea in the late 1800's. The church can be seen on the far right, but very little is built along the open sea direction.”
