NEWQUAY Zoo is to close temporarily for essential work to be carried out.

The attraction is closing for the safety of visitors, staff and the animals whilst work is undertaken on Thursday and Friday (January 23 and 24) to address storm damage, which will include felling trees.

A zoo spokesperson said: “Please be advised that Newquay Zoo will be closed on Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24 due to essential tree work across the site.

“This decision has been made to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff and animals.

“The necessary work will include removing hazardous limbs, felling damaged trees, and addressing storm damage throughout the zoo.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

“We look forward to welcoming you back to Newquay Zoo Saturday, January 25.”
