A motorcyclist sustained potentially life-changing injuries following a serious road traffic collision on the A3059 near Newquay on Thursday, July 25.

Officers were called to the collision close to Spitfire Corner where it was reported that a collision had occurred involving a motorcycle at around 9.05pm.

The male rider and male pillion were taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske. The rider was found to have sustained potentially life-changing injuries and was later transferred to Derriford Hospital. The pillion suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene. Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public and residents of the area for their patience whilst the road was closed.
