A man is due to be appear in court today (June 21) in connection with an alleged assault in Penzance.

Cory Middleton, 23, of Commercial Road, Penzance, is due to appear before Bodmin Magistrates Court following an incident in Market Place on Sunday, June 16.

He has been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed: “Cory Middleton, 23, of Commercial Road, Penzance, has been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.

“He is due to appear before Bodmin Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 21.

“An 18-year-old man from Penzance has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and on suspicion of possessing a controlled Class A drug. He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.”
