A man has died following a collision on the Isles of Scilly in the early hours of Saturday, November 23.
Police were called at 2.20am to concerns for a man who had left the hospital on St Mary’s. A missing person report was raised.
At around 4.30am, the ambulance service attended a report of a collision involving a cyclist and a parked car. The cyclist was confirmed to be the missing person.
The man, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital where he was later confirmed deceased. His next of kin have been informed.
Superintendent Ben Asprey said; “Our thoughts remain with the family of the deceased man, who are being supported by specialist officers.
“Devon & Cornwall Police will make a mandatory referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC).”
