A man died at Polly Joke Beach despite the “best efforts of emergency services” on Thursday night, (May 30).
Police, ambulance, Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team and Cornwall Air Ambulance attended following concerns for his welfare at 6.40pm.
The man was in his 60s and from the Greater Manchester area. His next of kin have been informed.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called by the ambulance service following concern for the welfare of a man who had become unwell at Polly Joke beach, Newquay.
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious.”
