A man has been charged with rape following an incident in Camborne last weekend.

Eugen Simion, 20, of Praze Road, Camborne, has been charged with rape. He is due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday 8 February).

Officers were notified just after 2am on Sunday, February 2 following reports that a woman had been attacked in the Barripper Road and Boundervean Lane area of Camborne.

A spokesperson for the Devon & Cornwall Police said: “Officers attended the area, and a police cordon was put in place at the scene while officers carried out further enquiries.

“The victim is continuing to be supported by specially trained officers.

“We would like to thank the public for their patience and assistance in recent days while investigation work has taken place.”
