A GLOBAL telecommunications company has launched its new headquarters at Spaceport Cornwall.
Avanti Communications (Avanti) has relocated to the Space Systems Operations Facility.
The company was the first commercial satellite operator to provide Ka-band services from Geostationary orbit.
They own and operate a fleet of four Ka-band HYLAS satellites that offer 50 GHz capacity and a secure ground network of seven Gateway Earth Stations.
Together with a secondary site in Goonhilly Earth Station, Avanti delivers crucial connectivity and communications across the globe, delivering capacity to government, military, enterprise, telecoms and carrier markets.
Founded in 2002, Avanti Communications offers unique flexible GEO and multi-orbit satellite connectivity solutions.
Avanti has offices across Europe, Africa, and the USA, and was awarded a best place to work in 2024.
Kyle Whitehill, CEO of Avanti, said: “Our move to Spaceport Cornwall’s Space Systems Operations Facility reinforces our commitment to Cornwall's growing space sector.
“This move enables us to collaborate more closely with the pioneering space and technology companies in SSOF and collectively contribute to the region’s growing reputation as a world-class space cluster.”
Avanti’s move to Spaceport Cornwall serves to strengthen Cornwall’s thriving space and tech ecosystem and places the company at the heart of the county’s growing space cluster, alongside pioneering businesses like Blue Abyss, Slingshot Aerospace, Intelligent AI, Kispe, Space Engine Systems and Drone Prep.
Ross Hulbert, head of engagement, Spaceport Cornwall: “We are delighted to welcome Avanti to site. Alongside launch operations, Spaceport Cornwall’s mission is to provide a world class environment for space businesses to locate and thrive.
“It’s a sign of the ambition of the cluster that a company the size and calibre of Avanti has chosen Newquay as its base, and we look forward to working alongside them for many years to come.”
