THE fire service removed a hazardous substance which was found near Skilly Beach in Newlyn on Sunday, February 16.
A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two appliances from Penzance were mobilised to this incident.
“It followed a request from Coastguard for our assistance with the recovery and removal of a sealed cannister containing a hazardous substance from a footpath.
“The crew used gauntlets and two breathing apparatus to safely remove the cannister into an overdrum and return it to the Fire Station for collection and disposal by an outside provider. There are no further details for this incident.”
