A FIRE crew was called out to a fence on fire at a Newquay residential property, which spread to a garage.

Two appliances from Newquay Fire Station attended the incident at Mellanvrane Lane on Tuesday, April 2 shortly after 3pm.

Firefighters extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “An appliance from Newquay was mobilised to reports of a fence on fire in the rear garden of a domestic property. A further call reported the fire had spread to a domestic garage. A second appliance was mobilised from Newquay.

“On arrival, it was confirmed the fire had spread to the roof of the garage. Firefighters extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets.”
