VISITORS can get crafty and creative this Easter with Nature Unmasked at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery.
Free activities will be running every day from April 5 to 21 to immerse museumgoers in the surroundings of the new-look gallery, created in collaboration with Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
The Easter activities are a playful way to engage younger visitors with conservation success stories and the value of Cornwall’s unique natural environment.
Here’s what to expect:
- Creating a animal mask - Visitors can make there own mask to take home, with a selection of creatures to choose from. If they find the animal elsewhere in the Nature Gallery, they can then jump into the empty display cabinet with the mask and have a picture taken.
- Dress up in beautiful bespoke headdress and capes - Work through the ultimate nature-inspired dressing up cabinet.
- Take part in the drawing competition - Find favourite creatures in the gallery and get sketching to be in with a chance of winning one of two prizes for young nature-lovers.
- Daily object handling sessions - The museum team will be showing some of the hidden treasures of our natural history collection in the gallery each day. Discover the stories behind the objects, and get closer to nature with mini-handling sessions.
All materials are provided and there’s no need to reserve a time slot.
