A buyer successfully staked their claim for land near St Just with a £147,809 bid at auction on Wednesday, June 12.
The site next to Crugkern Dowran Common, Bosworlas, went for more than £100,000 above its freehold guide of £45,000 plus.
The rectangular parcel, measuring 1.41 hectares (3.5 acres), includes moorland and a well-maintained garden with a summerhouse.
Senior Auction Appraise Katie Semmens said: “This beautiful slice of the Cornish countryside proved immensely popular at auction.
“It attracted strong bids from a number of interested parties before finally selling at more than £100,000 above its freehold guide.
“Attractive, multi-faceted lots of this calibre are often in demand, depending on the intentions of those submitting the bids.
“In this case, this new owner may simply have a horticultural interest or simply wish to own their own piece of the Cornish countryside.
“Alternatively, they may see potential for glamping or recreational purposes, subject to all the necessary consents.”
The June auction was Clive Emson Auctioneer’s 250th since it was founded in 1989.
The next auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers - the fifth this year - ends on July 24. Bidding opens 48 hours beforehand. Lot entries close on July 1, with the online catalogue available from July 5.
