A former shop in Penzance town centre has sold for £76,000 at auction.

The building at 3 Market Place, which was formerly occupied by Holland & Barrett, extends over four floors. It includes retail space, offices and store rooms. The property was listed with a freehold guide of £50,000 plus.

The building was auctioned jointly between Clive Emson Auctioneers and Miller Commercial of Truro.

Senior auction appraise Katie Semmens said: “Keen interest in this well-located property resulted in a sale price 52 per cent above its guide.

“The new owner now has a number of options to maximise the property’s potential, which could include a mixed commercial and residential development, subject to all the necessary consents.”
