A one-bedroom cliff-side cottage that appeared in BBC's Poldark has sold for £423,000.
The property has views over one of Cornwall's best beaches and has the potential to be transformed into a 'Grand-Designs style project'. Porthscylla, the detached property in Porthcurno, Penzance, has been featured in the TV series Poldark.
The property, nestled into cliffs near the famous open-air Minack Theatre, has been in the same family and 'thoroughly enjoyed for a century'.
The quaint cottage contains an entrance/utility area, a WC, a kitchen, shower room with a double basin, a double bedroom and a living/dining room.
The chalet-style bungalow went for £423,000 last Wednesday in an online auction. The property was sold with 0.8 hectares (1.9 acres) of mostly cliff land and permission in principle for demolition and replacement.
Clive Emson Auctioneers said: “There's not many places you can stay where you've got Porthcurno on your doorstep as a beach and Minack Theatre as your neighbour.”
“Something like this offered to the auction market in such a truly beautiful un-spoilt location really is an absolute rarity and anyone who visits Porthcurno even on a rainy day would be crazy not to fall in love with it”.
