MORE than 1,000 visitors attended the Trewithen Classic Car and County Fayre event at the estate of Trewithen Gardens recently.

More than 100 classic cars, motorbikes, new luxury cars from Ocean BMW and Hawkins Motors and static engines were on display. 

There were many attractions including a Fun Dog Show, entertainment by Truro Male Voice Choir and The Roseland Community Choir, a variety of stalls including collectables, preserves, crafts and raffles and tombola’s.

The gardens were open for guests to enjoy food and refreshments that were provided by The Tea Shed, Doh Pizza, The Victorian Kitchen, The Hidden Horse, Cornish Expresso and Kelly’s Ice Cream.

Truro town crier Lionel Knight and his consort, Carol Knight, judged the Fun Dog Show which was organised by the Helston Fundraising Group and sponsored by Fal Valley Pets of Grampound.

A grand total of £8,000 was raised which will support the Marie Curie Hospice at Home Service in Cornwall. Marie Curie Nurses and Health Care Assistants bring the nursing, medical and emotional help people need, in the comfort of people’s own homes, whatever the illness.

The charity has given a special thanks to Sam and Kitty Galsworthy for kindly hosting this fundraiser on behalf of Marie Curie.
