Truro entered 2025 with a bang, when the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks displays took place to joyous public celebration on Lemon Quay. The family fireworks display saw an excellent turnout, with 530 £3 vouchers funded by local businesses and handed out by volunteers for the purchase of food or a ride on the carousel.
Town crier Lionel Knight presided over the countdown at the midnight display. Staff from Truro City Council’s events team and Visit Truro stewarded the event. On Thursday, volunteers also organised a litter pick of the area in the grounds of Truro School used to launch the fireworks.
A city council spokesperson said: “The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are proud to have funded this community event.”
