THIS year’s Truro Big Sing took over Truro Cathedral on Friday, December 13, collecting more than £800 for Christian Aid’s Christmas Appeal.

St Ives singer Molly Hocking, winner of The Voice UK 2019, and Falmouth Gospel Choir performed festive favourites to a packed venue, while Bishop Hugh Nelson gave the sermon.

The Christmas Appeal is focusing on work in places like South Sudan where hundreds of thousands of people are seeking safety from conflict. Funds will help groups like the Smile Again Africa Development Organisation, which offers a lifeline to people who have had to leave everything behind.

Event co-organiser Sue Pettit said: “The Big Sing is such a joyous way to celebrate Christmas and raise funds to help people in vulnerable communities living with conflict around the world.”
