Creatives from Truro Art Society will display their work in the stables at Trelissick from May 3 to 18. The society’s spring exhibition will feature work from a number of talented local amateur artists and a sprinkling of professionals, in a wide range of media.
Truro Art Society was established in the 1950s. Members and guests meet monthly on a Thursday morning for interactive talks and demonstrations from local artists.
While being an artist is not a precursor to joining the society, many members work in an eclectic mix of media including watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen and pencil sketches, block printing and collage. Subjects covered include Cornish life, seascapes, landscapes, botany, portraits, still life and abstract studies.
Previous exhibitions have also included ceramics, wood turning and handicrafts.
