Cornwall will join communities across the UK in hosting a Together at Christmas Community carol service today.
Supported by The Royal Foundation, the philanthropic vehicle of The Prince and Princess of Wales, the event will take place at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at 5pm.
The Lord Lieutenant for Cornwall will welcome guests including in- and out-patients, their families and carers, and staff from around the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust’s locations. They will be joined by the newly reformed staff choir in its debut performance.
On the order of service are carols, prayers, patient and staff stories - offering a meaningful and inclusive celebration for people of all faiths and none.
The Co-operative Group will provide hot and cold drinks and festive treats, and Hobbycraft is kindly supplying Christmas decorations as well as gifting craft sets to all children in attendance.
The service is one of 15 across the UK, all inspired by the Princess of Wales’ service at Westminster Abbey, which honours individuals and organisations who have shown love, kindness and empathy in their communities. This will be televised on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.
