THE Cornwall 500 hosts a gala evening in aid of Cornwall Air Ambulance’s Heli2 Appeal at The Alverton in Truro on Thursday, March 27.

The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust has almost reached the £2.85-million target for its second AW169 aircraft, but must raise the final £197,000 for the medical fit before the end of April.

Tickets for this special black-tie event cost £65 per head and include live music, a three-course meal, close-up magic at your table, inspiring stories from speakers and a charity auction.

The Cornwall 500 challenge saw former city mayor Steven Webb travel 500 miles around Cornwall in his electric wheelchair to raise funds and say thank you to the “red dot in the sky” that saved his life 33 years ago.
