A VIRAL TikTok campaign saw St Day and Carharrack Primary School’s Anonymous Art Auction swamped with donations of original postcard-sized works from local, national and international artists.
More than 200 lots were sent in from several countries by artists like local landscape painter Paul Wadsworth and Joanne Beer, who featured on Sky Portrait Artist of the Year. These sat alongside pieces by teachers and pupils.
A total of £1500 was raised, including £65 - the highest price achieved by a single lot - for a work by portrait artist Diane Griffiths, while an art-loving parent spent £150 on assorted pieces including £8 for a work by Janet Lynch, whose paintings sell for hundreds of pounds.
Headteacher Susannah Storey confirmed all proceeds have been ringfenced for art-related school supplies and activities.
