TRURO Cricket Club have bolstered their squad for the 2025 ECB Cornwall Premier League campaign with three new signings.
Like several clubs already, The Boscawen Park outfit have already confirmed their overseas player as Indian first class star Akhilesh Sahani who has made 73 appearances in First Class cricket for Arunachal Pradesh since his debut in the 2018/19 season.
Sahani, 30, is a batting all-rounder with a highest score of 102 not out and best figures of 5-91 with his pace bowling and will look to fill the shoes of former Pakistani international Amir Yamin who made a superb impact this year as the city outfit comfortably survived following promotion the year before.
Truro have also brought in former Falmouth and Cornwall all-rounder Scott Kellow from Division Two West side Constantine.
Kellow left Falmouth before the start of the 2023 season to help ambitious Constantine work their way up through the leagues, but the lure of Premier League cricket has seen him return to the top flight.
Kellow unsurprisingly racked up over 2,000 runs at Boulder Parc, and will hope to take that sort of form back to a level where he has had decent success in the past.
Truro have also signed young wicket-keeper batsman Wilfred Bartlett from Penzance.
Bartlett spent much of last season opening the batting for the St Clare outfit’s second team, but with them being relegated from County Division One, Bartlett has decided to try his luck in the capital where he will hope to establish himself in the first team.
Penzance have bolstered their batting resources by signing well-travelled batsman Alex Ridd from Ladock.
The hard-hitting right-hander has played plenty of top flight cricket for Grampound Road and has been racking up the runs in recent seasons, including 748 in 2024 at an average of nearly 50.
