BOSS John Askey hailed the all-round team performance from Truro City as they defeated Hampton & Richmond 3-0 on Saturday, writes Gareth Davies.
The win lifts City into second place in the table before tonight’s (Tuesday) mouth-watering match against leaders Farnborough.
Tyler Harvey (2) and Connor Riley-Lowe found the mark for City, who have now recorded three successive wins.
“It was a really good team performance and everybody pulled their weight,” Askey said at full-time. “To come away with another win is very pleasing and to not concede as well.
“We looked the most likely in the first half and they didn’t create hardly anything, but the final ball was perhaps letting us down.
“I wasn’t too disappointed at half time and I just said to the players to up it a bit and we would have a great chance.
“I did worry that they might snatch one and it could have been one of those games that go away from us. Tyler scores with a good header and they had to change the way they play. We capitalised on that and it was nice to see Connor score, along with Tyler getting two.”
