St Blazey and District Snooker League latest by Geoff Hawken

TREGONISSEY A advanced to the Team Handicap final after a good 3-1 home win against Mevagissey A on Tuesday night (February 18).

They took a two-frame lead as Kevin Harris beat James Tomlinson and Geoff Merriman took out Rich Lakeman, but Matt Chesterfield made two 32 breaks as he thrashed John Bates to pull a frame back.

Ben Prynn looked to force a decider, but Jason Cocks narrowly edged their frame to seal their passage through.

In the final they will play Bugle A who went to Mevagissey C and got the first three frames with Josh Bristow, Gary Spencer who knocked in a 33 break and Andrew Best the successful cuemen.

In the Plate competition, holders Mevagissey B have made the final again after a really close win over Bugle B.

They started well with Nathan Shaw getting the better of Dave Rundle, but Keith Moore 's black ball win against Dave Kendall levelled things up.

Matt Rowe put them ahead again by beating Mark Sturtridge, only for Mike Williams to get the job done in a very low-scoring game against Ben Prynn.

Mark Gregory's pink ball win in the last frame eventually settled the evening.

Steve Benallack got Bethel A off to a good start against St Blazey B by beating Nick Ferguson, and Geoff Hawken doubled their lead after a long, drawn out frame taking the pink and black to pip Martin Richards.

Victory was secured with Paul Baron beating Gavin Dyche to set up a repeat of last year's final.
