ST AUSTELL will look to continue their quest for a top five finish in Regional One South West tomorrow when they welcome Royal Wootton Bassett to Tregorrick Park (2.30pm).
It will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides on Cornish soil and one which is likely to be close with both sides in fine form.
The Saints have not played since a 34-21 defeat at Exmouth on February 1, but it has allowed a number of players to come back into contention, ensuring coaches Matt Shepherd, Sam Parsons and Neil Bayliss have had some real selection headaches.
From the side beaten in East Devon, Dan Tyrrell comes in for Arthur Fletcher on the left wing, while in the pack, Cam Taylor, who has missed much of the season, is available again and replaces Kaydan Michael at openside-flanker.
A particularly strong bench is also boosted by the returns of prop Matt Boothby and flying full-back Archie Bees.
With just five games to go, eight points separate the Saints in fifth and ninth-placed Lydney, and one of the sides between them are Royal Wootton Bassett who arrive in seventh, four points behind.
However, a convincing win coupled with a lack of bonus point will see them end the day ahead of St Austell.
Looking ahead to the afternoon, St Austell player-coach Matt Shepherd, who will start at full-back, told the Voice: “Tomorrow is a huge game between two sides that like to play rugby. We’ve got a few lads returning to the frame which has made it difficult with selection, but we are looking forward to putting our best foot forward and separating ourselves from the teams around us.
“With there being no game next weekend it’s a game to empty the tank before the run-in, and fingers crossed for another big Tregorrick Park crowd!”
