Work on building a new purpose built digital and creative hub in Liskeard is well underway.

The WorkShed at Liskeard Cattle Market, which will comprise office and workshop space and managed co-working, is due to be completed by the end of March.

Businesses from all sectors can apply to locate there although priority will be given to creative and digital goods and services businesses. 

 The scheme is the first phase of the Liskeard Cattle Market masterplan that proposes a range of multi-tenure housing, a Community Centre and Nursery across the former cattle market site.

Liskeard Cornwall councillor Nick Craker was given a tour of the site so he could see first-hand how the build is progressing.

Cllr Craker said: “It was good to look around the new Liskeard WorkShed.“There are incredible views from the top floor. 

“An operator has been appointed to manage the building and covered events area. “They will be at the Community Fair on April 1 to talk about how the space will be managed.

 “Several businesses are already in talks with Council to lease the office space and there are other small and micro businesses in the pipeline. 

“We have asked for an open day once the build is completed so residents can walk around the building and learn about how it will run as well as the other plans for Liskeard Cattle Market."

The scheme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
