Individuals and organisations are being asked for feedback about a new community hall planned for Langarth Garden Village to ensure it is designed to meet local needs.
A short online survey is asking interested parties about the types of programmes, activities and events want to provide or attend.
The answers will be considered to make sure the proposed hall provides a welcoming space that can accommodate a variety of uses, from exercise classes to health clinics, children’s birthday parties to wedding receptions, film and music nights, and more.
Cornwall Council is working with a specialist community leisure company to determine the facilities, equipment and storage requirements for the new building, and to liaise with individuals and local community organisations.
SJ SLC is asking those who may be interested in using the new community hall for events and activities to fill out a short online survey with information about what they would like to run at the venue, as well as identifying their facility and equipment needs.
Cllr Olly Monk, Cornwall Council portfolio holder for housing said: “Before an application for planning permission is submitted by the Langarth Garden Village project team later this year, we want to involve those who will be putting on events and activities so that the new facility meets their needs.
“It will be part of a wide range of community assets, including new parks and urban squares, green spaces, water features, cycle and walking routes, cultural facilities as well as community buildings.”
The survey is open until Friday, March 1 via the Cornwall Council website.
