AN opportunity to buy a road has arisen in Cornwall.
The roadway and adjoining verges at Trethowel, near St Austell, is being offered by Clive Emson Auctioneers.
The auctioneers anticipate the unusual offering may attract quite a lot of interest.
Cornwall Council has instructed the sale of the land parcels, together measuring a total of 0.19 hectares (0.47 acres), at the Bojea Industrial Estate.
Auctioneer David Henwood said: “This is an unusual lot comprising predominantly roadway with some verge land.
“The road provides access to a well-established industrial estate, which may interest some of its tenants or property owners.
“Occasionally these types of lots come to auction and we often find they are in demand. Setting a nil reserve gives all parties an opportunity to show an interest while giving the lot the greatest chance to reach its best market value.”
Meanwhile, a leasehold ground floor flat in Rose Hill, St Blazey, is up for auction with a guide price of £55,000 to £65,000.
The property comes with a decking area and shed. It is being sold with the remainder of a 125-year lease from January 2013.
Bidding for the online auction goes live on Wednesday, October 30, and ends on Friday, November 1.
