A choir made up of Ukrainian refugees temporarily living in Cornwall will be taking to the stage in Newquay.

The Ukrainian Refugee Women’s Choir from St Austell will be performing as the guests of Newquay Male Voice Choir at St Michael’s Church on Saturday, June 24 at 7.30pm.

The programme for the evening will draw on the best aspects of the Cornish male voice choir repertoire alongside pieces reflecting the culture and traditions of Ukraine.  A real musical feast.

Jim Christophers, the co-chairman of Newquay Male Voice Choir, said: “This will be a very special evening with proceeds going to a registered Helping Children of Ukraine’ charity.

"In line with recent practice admission will be only £5, payable on the door by cash or card, with a retiring collection helping to boost the amount that can be donated.”
