THE Ukrainian flag will be raised in Newquay to mark three years since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against the country.
Newquay Town Council will be flying the Ukrainian flag outside its offices in Marcus Hill on Monday, February 24.
The authority is making the symbolic gesture on behalf of Cornwall’s Ukrainian community, which includes around 800 families, and the Ukrainian-Cornish social club, Sunflowers & Choughs.
A town council spokesperson said: “The flag-raising aims to show solidarity with the Ukrainian community and acknowledge their resilience during this difficult time.”
