THE Ukrainian flag was raised in Newquay on Monday to mark three years since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against the country.
Newquay Town Council is flying the Ukrainian flag outside its offices in Marcus Hill.
The authority is making the symbolic gesture on behalf of Cornwall’s Ukrainian community, which includes around 800 families, and the Ukrainian-Cornish social club, Sunflowers & Choughs.
A town council spokesperson said: “The flag-raising aims to show solidarity with the Ukrainian community and acknowledge their resilience during this difficult time.”
